Julie's path to becoming a counselor was shaped by her own search for belonging. Knowing firsthand the struggle to fit in, she learned the lasting impact of having someone in her corner who believes in her. Those experiences shape how she shows up for clients today: with warmth, curiosity, genuine compassion, and deep respect for each person's story.

Who Julie Works With

Julie works with children, adolescents, and adults, with a special passion for supporting teens navigating the emotional and social changes of adolescence. She also partners with parents to help them understand their child's emotions, strengthen communication, and move through difficult seasons with confidence. As a parent herself, Julie understands how hard it is to watch your child struggle with school, friendships, or self-esteem. She works alongside families with compassion, practical support, and respect for their unique story.

She helps clients navigate challenges including:

  • Anxiety, depression, and self-esteem

  • School stress, peer relationships, and bullying Identity, belonging, and life transitions

  • Family conflict and parenting support

  • Grief, trauma healing, and faith questions

Counseling Approach

Julie honors each client's pace, recognizing that some are ready to talk, some need help finding words, and others express themselves best through creativity or play. She believes the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful tools for healing. Her goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel supported enough to explore and begin making meaningful change.

Her approach is client-centered, integrative, and trauma-informed, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). For clients who desire it, Julie can smoothly integrate Christian faith principles in a way that respects each person's comfort level and goals.

Outside the Therapy Room

Julie is a proud Texan by way of Missouri and calls Wylie home. Outside the office, she is married, a mom to two teenage daughters, and a dog mom to a big Great Pyrenees mix. She spends her free time cheering on her family, driving teenagers everywhere, reaching for coffee, and finding gratitude in everyday life.

If you are looking for a therapist who will meet you or your child with warmth, honesty, and hope, Julie would be honored to walk alongside you.
